These are great loppers. Better than Coronas for sure. We've had these on our farm for years with heavy use. The Blades are very good steel. The handles are not very long but you can still cut through thick branches easily. You can't go wrong with these unless you are cutting mostly 2" or thicker branches, then maybe you you should get the larger ones.

I have a 45 acre blueberry farm and Bahco makes great pruners. I use these myself and they are super durable. Very professional grade. I do have the large size though, so if you have big hands, you should get the large size. The rotating handle really helps with the fatigue of pruning all day. Get the loppers too.

First of all let me say that these tools are very high quality items which are infinitely superior to most of the "junk" type chinese tools you see in this price range. For your average home mechanic - these will be the last tools you will EVER need to buy - period.

For a professional mechanic - these tools will serve you well also. Now a pro can always manage to bend, break, or damage any tool - no matter the brand. And it is always handy to have a tool truck which comes by for easy replacement. But lets be serious for a moment. How much would this tool from Snap-On, MAC, Matco, or Cornwell cost? Now compare that to the price of these. You could buy 2 of these, and if one breaks, have your own spare while you get the warranty taken care of - and STILL have money left over.

Bahco is a reputable brand. It is owned by Snap-On Tools/JH Williams Tool Company - but it is not Snap-on itself. Bahco is headquartered in Sweden, and I believe have many of their manufacturing facilities in Europe, although after being acquired by Snap-On/JH Williams it appears they are now making some tools here also since some Bahco products now carry the Made in USA marking. Snap-On is headquartered here, and for the most part, made here in the USA. So it is truthful to say that Bahco is related to Snap-On. But do not think that the Bahco tool is made of the same casting and in the same facility as the Snap-On tool. I can find no information anywhere that implies this is the case, even after visiting the Snap-On, Bahco, and JH Williams corporate websites.

However that in no way affects the intrinsic quality and finish of these tools, which is outstanding, or the years of service they will provide. All in all these are an excellent tool and an absolute unbelievable value in terms of cost to quality. When Bahco becomes more well known in the USA market - expect the prices of these tools to go up by 200% or more. But for now - get the bargain - while it is still here!

I love this pruner. It cuts superbly and has a few extra features that make it ergonomic and fit well in your hand. It is very comfortable to use.. much better than other pruners I have tried. Very solid construction.

The PG models are the same design as the higher end ones, except they do not have replaceable parts. If you don't use your pruner for hours on end every day, your parts probably won't need replacing for quite a while.

All in all an excellent purchase for what in the pruner world is relatively cheap.

By doing so I believe you are doing yourself a great disservice. Do you feel like the country has gone crazy over the last several years or decades? Do you often feel you are alone in those thoughts? If so, take comfort that you aren't alone. Mr. Beck lays out a well thought out case that we as a country are hurtling out of control and that We the People need to stand up and take the country back.

Mr. Beck is hard hitting to both Democrats and Republicans, essentially making the case, and I for one believe it to be valid, that both parties are taking us to the same place, which is a place that is not sustainable. Some of the examples he uses are both mind boggling and infuriating at the same time. For example, when you sit down and actually look at how the districts are drawn and the great lengths both Republican and Democrat incumbents go to keep power it is sickening.

If you believe it is time to do something to take our country back from Washington then this short read is an essential first step.

Unless you really want to believe in those theories I can't imagine this book resonating with anyone. It is based on made up "facts" and designed to play on the paranoid. I don't know why so many Americans want to believe that only they are smart enough to see the truth in made up nonsense but there is certainly a market for it. I didn't make it to the end of the book and returned it to its owner wondering why he would want to waste his time with something so off the mark. I have never seen Mr. Beck's show but now I know I don't want to.

This book was very disappointing for me.

Content: Beck constantly talks about his "plan" to correct what has been happening in Washington, but ultimately, he offers no plan at all. A few positive notes, though: he does not whine in this book nearly as much as he does on his radio show, nor does he once again dredge up the minute details of his struggle (twenty or so years ago) against alcoholism.

Style: Beck is not nearly as good a writer as Mark Levin, or the superb Jonah Goldberg (I would recommend reading the latter's "Liberal Fascism", and also a free copy of Paine's original "Common Sense", rather than buying this book).

The scraper looked like ground by very coarse (60 grit) sand drum. It was sligtly out of flat and took a few hours to flatten and polish. You know, the scraper's flat sides must be well polished, to get decent results. Still, one edge was crooked too much, it made it impossible to finish.

After that, I polished the long edges and rolled a burr. It cut very well, even end grain and against grain.

These snips are incredibly versatile. They're recommended by the manufacturer for thinning fruit trees. That's just the beginning. I use them for just about everything in the garden--cutting back & thinning shrubs, dead-heading roses and all flowering plants, even pruning smaller-diameter branches. They're easy to get into real tight spots because they're not as bulky as pruning shears and they're much lighter. They're better than scissors because you can use 'em wearing gloves and they have spring-tension so they open by themselves. I've replaced my pruning shears with these except for anything that needs cutting that's larger in diameter than a pencil. These snips rarely need sharpening but when they do, they're easy to sharpen. They're also less expensive than pruning shears so I've purchased a few pairs and placed them around the garden so they're always handy. Give 'em a try--you'll love 'em!

From this point forward, I just don't see any need to purchase other than carbide tipped and Bahco Scrapers. It feels, functions and performs like no other

I bought this pruner about 3 years ago from a rose speciality store and they recommended it over the much more expensive Felco pruner they carried. Convinced, I bought it and after years of use would never think of buying another brand. Made in France, it is designed to cut through a 3/4" branch but it will do larger as well. The handle is comfortable and the spring action is well-balanced so it can be used for hours without any fatique or fear of carpul tunnel syndrome. I only wish it had a strap to wrap around my wrist as I recently lost mine (probably left underneath a pile of leaves and branches and accidentaly thrown away) and had to replace it. The price is great as this is a top of the line pruner and I'm amazed that more stores don't carry this brand.

I have owned and used many of the top-of-the-line hand pruners from Fiskars, Corona, Felco, Toro, Stihl -- and I feel none are in league with the Ergo style design of Bahco. I can't stress enough how much I love this line of Bahco pruners. I have the non-rotating handled one, and gave up my previously-beloved Felcos in favor of the Orange Menace as I call it. The blade stays sharp a long time, and the ergonomic design really and truly cuts down on wrist pain, and also cuts down on trips to my truck to get my loppers, as it cuts very thick branches that no other handheld shear can touch.

I'm a pro, so a year of use is probably like ten years of home use.

Now to this model specifically: I thought that the rotating handle might help reduce pain for the upcoming pruning season, but I'd had problems gripping other brands of rotating handled-pruners in the past because they are so big and bulky, and the rotating handle makes it easy to drop them. Not a problem here. The handle is the slimmest I've ever seen and is easy to pick up and grip, and really is better designed for ergonomics.

Highly recommended. I'd get the stationary handle for regular garden work, and the rotating handle if you regularly hold the pruners in your hand for more than an hour at a time, like for serious fruit tree work or propagation.

I bought this tool in 2004 and have been very pleased with its performance. The light weight, cutting ability, reach, and all-around ease of use are superior to other hedge shears. The blades really hold their edge and can cut through tough brush with ease. The materials used make cleaning much easier, too. I wind up using it instead of power tools that I used to use as you can cut a lot, quickly, and with more precision.

I balked at the price at the time and see that it has gone up since but you will not regret buying this item after you use it the first time (and it will last a lifetime.)

Hedges, shrubs, bushes and topiary are easily tamed by the P51, which is tough enough to cut all day, and has a serrated edge that can cut through tough branches without getting dull. Specially coated to prevent rusting, and needing only occasional sharpening of the straight edge of the blade, this tool is going to be in your gardening arsenal for a long time.

The shear in this video is almost six years old, and the only parts that need replacing are the buffers, also sold by Amazon.

First of all let me say that these tools are very high quality items which are infinitely superior to most of the "junk" type chinese tools you see in this price range. For your average home mechanic - these will be the last tools you will EVER need to buy - period.

For a professional mechanic - these tools will serve you well also. Now a pro can always manage to bend, break, or damage any tool - no matter the brand. And it is always handy to have a tool truck which comes by for easy replacement. But lets be serious for a moment. How much would this tool from Snap-On, MAC, Matco, or Cornwell cost? Now compare that to the price of these. You could buy 2 of these, and if one breaks, have your own spare while you get the warranty taken care of - and STILL have money left over.

Bahco is a reputable brand. It is owned by Snap-On Tools/JH Williams Tool Company - but it is not Snap-on itself. Bahco is headquartered in Sweden, and I believe have many of their manufacturing facilities in Europe, although after being acquired by Snap-On/JH Williams it appears they are now making some tools here also since some Bahco products now carry the Made in USA marking. Snap-On is headquartered here, and for the most part, made here in the USA. So it is truthful to say that Bahco is related to Snap-On. But do not think that the Bahco tool is made of the same casting and in the same facility as the Snap-On tool. I can find no information anywhere that implies this is the case, even after visiting the Snap-On, Bahco, and JH Williams corporate websites.

However that in no way affects the intrinsic quality and finish of these tools, which is outstanding, or the years of service they will provide. All in all these are an excellent tool and an absolute unbelievable value in terms of cost to quality. When Bahco becomes more well known in the USA market - expect the prices of these tools to go up by 200% or more. But for now - get the bargain - while it is still here!

Bahco is a reputable brand. It is owned by Snap-On Tools/JH Williams Tool Company - but it is not Snap-on itself. Bahco is headquartered in Sweden, and I believe have many of their manufacturing facilities in Europe, although after being acquired by Snap-On/JH Williams it appears they are now making some tools here also since some Bahco products now carry the Made in USA marking. Snap-On is headquartered here, and for the most part, made here in the USA. So it is truthful to say that Bahco is related to Snap-On. But do not think that the Bahco tool is made of the same casting and in the same facility as the Snap-On tool. I can find no information anywhere that implies this is the case, even after visiting the Snap-On, Bahco, and JH Williams corporate websites.

However that in no way affects the intrinsic quality and finish of these tools, which is outstanding, or the years of service they will provide. All in all these are an excellent tool and an absolute unbelievable value in terms of cost to quality. When Bahco becomes more well known in the USA market - expect the prices of these tools to go up by 200% or more. But for now - get the bargain - while it is still here!

I purchased these for my fiance who is in the HVAC trade. There is no deception! These wrenches do have a full warranty on them by Bahco Products. It is true that they cannot be returned to a Snap-on dealer or truck however, a full warranty replacement can be done through Amazon.com or by returning the product back to the manufacturer. I called customer service at Bahco (Who is owned by Snap-On Tools) and was told this information by their customer service department. My fiance was very pleased with his gift, and the quality of the wrenches.

A great tool, made in Sweden, solid construction. Nice and lite weight, yet can fall from a 4th story onto concrete and be good as new. Well worth the price, as it'll out-perform and out-last lesser quality Chinese made scrapers.

One negative: The description notes that the Bahco scraper comes with a holster, but i failed to receive one (nor have i ever seen one on the others i've bought). I'd not for a moment allow that to deter me from purchasing another, though.

Among all the scrapers I have, this is the best one (or the most useful one so far). This is not a finishing scraper, although you can use it on hardwood for rough shaping. It is heavy duty and did a great job cleaning out the epoxy residue on the wood. It can scrape out the old paint as well if you work on a refinishing job. (If you suspect the old paint might contain lead, do not use a scraper on it ever! I was using it on an old piano and I was pretty sure it was clear lacquer.) It is expensive, but this is indeed a case of you get what you pay for.

It is generally believed by those in our trade that while employment candidates may embellish their employment tasks and positions, they will downright lie about their education.
     Yes, that person interviewing with your Human Resource Manger and other relevant executives, the one looking presentable and acting so bright and articulate may well be inventing his education.    In most cases your candidate's claim to a higher education is not necessarily a total invention.   He may have in fact actually enrolled in the university listed on the resume.   He just didn't graduate from that school. Or any other school, for that matter.
     But then there are those, a notable amount of employment candidates who have engaged in what we term a ghost attendance. That is to say they not only failed to graduate from the school, but they never enrolled at all.   Why they chose that particular school as their fictional place of graduation is anyone's guess.    But enough candidates lie about graduating from schools they may have never seen, save for photos on the Internet. The HR person should always consider the ghost attendance a very real possibility.
     As to which schools the job candidates may claim to have graduated, the selection is varied and sometimes darkly amusing.    Some may choose the smaller and more out of the way schools as their fictional alma maters. They may select something arty and prestigious, one of those schools you may hear about but not know much about..   Or your candidate can take obscurity in another direction by listing on their resume some grievously remote or sub-par institute of higher learning that few ever even heard of..
     There is certain logic to making such claims. By listing say, an obscure Mid-Western school or esoteric New England college, as his place of graduation, your candidate may believe he helps substantiate his credibility. Even the more astute HR person may well determine no one would actually lie about graduating from a Reed College, in Oregon, Amherst, in Massachusetts, or Lake Forest, in Illinois?   Or for that matter as a defense against low self-esteem, who would dare boast of graduating from one of the legions of North Western Eastern Slippery Eel Teacher's College in the far corner of the middle of nowhere?   So, the thinking goes, you may accept their claim at face value and never bother to check it out.
     Other candidates will take the alternate route. Most in fact, will choose the larger schools, believing their names and alleged graduation dates may well get lost in the bureaucratic shuffle. Of course, if they did attend for awhile, they hope their registered enrollment may mistakenly be interpreted as proof of graduation.   What they lack in education, they make up for in audacity.   Well, sort of.
     Finally, there are the no degree degrees.. These are the phony degrees awarded for "life experience" and are not representative of attendance or graduation from any legitimate or accredited college. They are totally bogus.   But they are popular. The more enterprising among the duplicitous can purchase these degrees online for anywhere from fifty bucks to several hundred dollars.   The graduate degrees are a little pricier than the mere Bachelors' but they are available from any number of phony universities.   Some of them even look impressive; provided you don't look try to find the school's physical address on the Internet.
     Before you become too upset or overly suspicious, bear in mind that those who lie about their degrees comprise a minority of employment candidates.    More often than not your candidate actually is who he says he is and did attend and graduate from the college listed in his resume.   But bear in mind the operative phase here is "more often than not."   With that in mind, think of the ways you may cause embarrassment and even litigation if you mistakenly hire someone who has obtained only a fictional degree.
    It may be true that lacking a Bachelor's degree in certain disciplines may be irrelevant. There is a saying, for example, that a good sales person is born and not made, or something to that affect.   And while that may be true in certain disciplines, in more than a few someone better have the qualifications afforded through the proper education.    It may well be your new hire with his fictional degree may genuinely lack the skill sets required for the job. This reality can cause all sorts of problems and even lead to catastrophe in its myriad forms.
    You have allocated time and money to his hire.   You have distracted your work force, at least those who have conducted the various interviews.   In hiring this person, you may have rejected a candidate who was truly qualified but is no longer available. You must now allocate additional resources to hire someone else.    Such mistakes can detract from employee morale as well as your bottom line.
      Additionally, by hiring someone not qualified by virtue of lacking his degree, you are jeopardizing your relationship with clients.   You may have assigned this person to a client, and now your employee has screw things up through is lack of qualifications. This can make your client extremely unhappy.   The client may demand compensation.   They may even threaten a lawsuit. This is not only costly, but embarrassing as well.
       If you think this doesn't happen, you had better think again.   These are not the stories executives like to brag about over lunch.   These are the stories that are whispered, and the whispering is far more ominous and damaging to your business. Let's face it, if your failure to perform due diligence causes proves detrimental to your client, then you will be held accountable.   You will look foolish and cheap. You may also be looking for another client to replace the one who left you.
        The moral to this story is that your Human Resources Management must check out everyone, no matter how trustworthy they sound. It is essential to have a pre-employment screening program in place and to include education verification as part of that program. The few bucks you spend up front to verify your candidate's graduation can save you plenty in money and time as well as and potential litigation and embarrassment.   Those who win contracts with major corporations, especially technology or defense and security related industries will find these companies mandate background checks for everyone who will be working on the project.   This includes education verification. Often they will insist on verification of all degrees and not just the highest.
        When conducting education verifications here are some things to keep in mind—
•    Colleges and Universities typically provide verification either in-house or through the National Student Clearing House or another third party service. If the University is registered with a third party service, the degree can often be verified that day. Third party services will charge a fixed rate for access verification. Some background checking agencies will add on to this rate while others will pass it on at cost.
•    Typically, degrees are verified by background checking services within a couple, few days.   The process may take longer if your candidate has either graduated some years back or is not listed in the database.
•    Verification may also take longer over the holidays, semester break or the summer.   Be prepared to allow for more time for verification.
•    Verification from foreign universities inevitably will take longer than domestic verification. Typically, the rates for foreign verifications are significantly higher than charges for a domestic university.   Be prepared to pay more and wait longer for the foreign verification.
•    Some schools will ask for your candidate's disclosure and release form before issuing the verification.
•    When providing your candidate's information to the University or third party service, it is best to include the years attended, the year graduated, the actual degree and major, and for large schools the campus where your candidate attended.
•    If your candidate is a female, be sure the information you submit reflects the actual name with which your candidate graduated.   Sometimes your candidate applies for the position under her married name and fails to provide her maiden name, the name she used while attending school.
•    This may also apply for foreign students.   Sometimes foreign candidates will change their names after graduation, to make them more accessible in the American workplace.   But they may have attended school, using their formal name. Your candidate is known to you as "Ben," but in school he was still "Bao." This can complicate the verification process..
•    If the school or the third party service is having a difficult time verifying y our candidate's degree, they may request a facsimile of his diploma or final transcripts.
•    Be sure to keep your verification process uniform. You may decide to verify all degrees or only the highest degree obtained.   Whatever you do for one candidate, you should do for all the rest.
•    Make sure your background checking service stays in front of any complications that may arise in the verification process.   Establish and maintain fluid communication channels so that the service can keep you informed and request additional information when needed.
       Remember if for some reason and after all due diligence you are unable to verify your candidate's degree, it probably means he never obtained one.   They may try to talk their way out of it, but hold firm and insist they provide any information that has been requested..   There is nothing exceptional about this information for anyone who has truly graduated from an accredited college or university.   If they can't provide that information, you may want to look for another candidate.   Remember the axiom that if they lie about their degree then they'll lie when on the job didn't become accepted wisdom for no reason. Check them out before you hire.
